Green River
Green River Kentucky Straight Wheated Bourbon
Same historic address in Owensboro. Same locally grown corn, same aged-in-house approach — but with wheat stepping in where the rye used to be, the character shifts entirely. Where the flagship is driven by spice and structure, the Wheated is softer, rounder, and more openly generous: peach and apricot on the nose, caramel and orange peel on the palate, toffee and hazelnut carrying into a long, honeyed finish. The mash bill runs 70% corn, 21% wheat, 9% malted barley, bottled at 90 proof — and in 2025 it was named Best Bourbon in the World at the New York World Spirits Competition.
For a distillery with a DSP number in the single digits and rickhouses among the oldest still standing in Kentucky, the Wheated is a reminder that heritage and approachability aren't mutually exclusive. This is a bottle that rewards both the first-time wheated drinker and the collector who already knows what good looks like.
