Waubs Harbour Great Southern Reef

Crafted just metres from the ocean on Tasmania’s east coast, Great Southern Reef is a maritime single malt made, matured, and bottled at Waubs Harbour Distillery in support of the Great Southern Reef Foundation. This limited release of only 591 bottles began in ex-Apera Sherry casks, before being finished in an extraordinary 40-year-old ex-Tawny Port cask from Murray Street. The result is a whisky of layered complexity — salted caramel and stewed fruits enriched by the deep, oxidative character of aged fortified oak. Bottled at 43% ABV and never to be repeated, it captures both the flavour of Waubs Harbour’s salty coastal air and the spirit of a vital environmental cause.
