Nc'nean Organic Huntress Orchard Cobbler
The Huntress series is where Nc'nean's experimental instincts get the most room to move — and Orchard Cobbler is its most intriguing chapter yet. The spirit itself is genuinely one-of-a-kind: produced only in the transitional week each year when Nc'nean's distillers switch from their long-aged recipe to their younger-release recipe, a moment when cut points shift and unusually high concentrations of fruity compounds flood the still. That window is captured, matured, and bottled. It happens once a year. There are 6,153 bottles.
Aged in a combination of STR red wine casks (66%), ex-bourbon barrels (31%), and organic Oloroso sherry casks (3%), then bottled at 48.5% — a touch more presence than the flagship. The result is exactly what the name suggests but more so: cherry Bakewell, apricot marmalade, vanilla custard, fresh orchard fruit, warm baking spice, and a finish that drifts into peppermint tea in a way that shouldn't work but absolutely does. Non-chill filtered, natural colour, certified organic.
Limited, purposeful, and distinctly itself — the kind of bottle that rewards those paying attention.
