Old Perth 12 year old Blended Malt Scotch Whisky

Perth was once the blending capital of Scotland. Casks moved through the city, families built reputations around the craft, and the great blended malts of the era were assembled with the kind of patience and instinct that commercial distilling rarely has time for anymore. Old Perth is the Morrison family's attempt to honour that history — the same family behind Aberargie and Càrn Mòr, whose connection to Scotch spans five generations.

The 12 Year Old draws from sherry-cask matured single malts from the Glenlivet region of Speyside, vatted and bottled in Perth at 46% ABV. Twelve years in sherry wood gives it the depth you'd expect: fruit and nut chocolate, sultanas, prunes, beeswax, and crème caramel on the nose; sticky ginger cake, dark berry jam, cinnamon, and milk chocolate on the palate; a finish that turns to dried fruit, nutmeg, and anise and lingers without demanding attention. Non-chill filtered, no added colour.

It's a generous, honest, sherry-forward dram that doesn't try to be more than it is — and that restraint is part of why it works so well. Excellent value, beautifully made, and a quiet argument that blending, done right, is its own art form.
